ASPCA, Planned Parenthood and Convio Co-Present On Internet Fundraising and Relationship Management at DMD New York Conference

Foremost Provider of Internet Software for Nonprofits and Clients Showcase Strategies and Results -- Including How Planned Parenthood Raised More than $1 Million Online in 13 Months

(Austin, Texas, June 17, 2002) -Three of the nation's most progressive organizations pioneering use of the Internet for online fundraising and constituent relationship management will outline strategies for success and showcase results at this week's 2002 DMD New York Annual Marketing Conference and Exposition (Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York City).

"Constituent Relationship Management: An Integrated Approach To Building Relationships Online" will be presented June 18, 2:15 p.m.-3:10 p.m. (EST), by:

  • Vinay Bhagat, Founder and CEO, Convio
  • Molly Smith, Director of Development, Planned Parenthood Federation of America
  • Jo Sullivan, Director of Direct Marketing, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

This session will help marketers, particularly those at nonprofits, understand how to leverage the Internet to build strong, lasting and loyal relationships with key constituencies.  The presenters will discuss how a nonprofit can use its Web site and email to:

  • Capture information about constituents to develop a comprehensive view of their interests and identify potential marketing opportunities
  • Conduct effective campaigns for membership, fundraising, advocacy, events and communications
  • Keep constituents engaged with and donating to the organization on an ongoing basis.

Planned Parenthood's Molly Smith will explain what her organization did to raise more than $1 million online in just over one year.  ASPCA's Jo Sullivan will discuss how, in only eight months, her group expanded its file of constituent email addresses by 273% and now is communicating frequently and cost-effectively via the Internet to a much larger and still growing, self-qualified supporter base.
