Fast-growing Provider of Internet Software for Nonprofits Taps Technology Veteran Who Has Helped Build World's No. 1 Computer Company

(Austin, TX, October, 16, 2001) Convio — the leading developer of Internet software to help nonprofits fundraise and manage constituent relationships — today announced that Dell Computer Vice President Brian Wood has joined its Board of Directors.

With more than a dozen years experience in executive positions at Dell, Wood most recently served as vice president and general manager for the company's U.S. Public Sector Business, where he was responsible for the federal, state and local government, K-12, higher education and healthcare markets in the United States, as well as the Worldwide Public Council and the Worldwide Services Council.

"Convio is uniquely positioned to drive progress in what I believe to be a very important area: helping nonprofit organizations leverage the full potential of information technology and the Internet," said Wood "By more effectively utilizing Internet technology, nonprofits can achieve efficiencies that save massive amounts of time, money, manpower and other resources which can be devoted to a more important purpose - mission fulfillment."

Prior to his current role at Dell, Wood served as Vice President of Dell's Enterprise segment. In this position, Mr. Wood was responsible for overseeing all of Dell's sales, marketing and service activities for large Enterprise customers in the United States. Before that, Wood was Vice President of Dell's education, state and local government business and Group Vice President for Canada and Latin America. Also, Wood is on the board of directors of the Dell Foundation, which has supported a wide range of programs and organizations that benefit children, primarily in Central Texas and Middle Tennessee, with a focus on innovative programs that equip youth for the digital world.

"Brian will be an important addition to Convio's Board of Directors because he has a passion for the nonprofit sector, in depth knowledge of serving the public sector and educational markets, and the insights of having helped build one of the best technology companies in the world," said Vinay Bhagat, Convio's founder and CEO.

Before joining Dell in July 1988, Mr. Wood served as a faculty member in the finance department of the business school at The University of Texas at Austin and as an independent consultant.
