Leading International Events Company, CauseForce, Picks Convio as Internet Partner for Major Canadian Cancer Walks

CauseForce, Inc.  Expands in Canada, Uses Convio to Drive Participation and Fundraising for "The Weekend to End Breast Cancer" Events

AUSTIN, TEXAS (April 27, 2004) -- CauseForce one of the leading companies that helps nonprofits in North America and around the world produce large-scale fundraising events has selected Convio, Inc. as its Internet partner for major breast cancer fundraising walks in Canada.

CauseForce is partnering with Convio as the company expands the number of events it is producing across Canada.  Convio is the top provider of software and services to help nonprofits use the Internet to reach out to, attract and build strong relationships with constituents to drive fundraising and other forms of support.  CauseForce is using Convio to drive online registration, email marketing and fundraising including volunteer fundraising for The Weekend to End Breast Cancer Walks in Toronto and Vancouver.

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer in Toronto (http://on.endcancer.ca/site/PageServer), next scheduled for September 10-12, benefits the Princess Margaret Hospital and is the biggest fundraising event in Canada.  Last year, the Toronto walk attracted 4,000 walkers and generated a record $12 million.  With Convio powering the walk's Web site and email system since January 2004, twice as many people have registered for this year's walk as were registered last year by the same time.  Princess Margaret Hospital is the largest institution in Canada exclusively devoted to cancer treatment, research, and education. Its M. Lau Breast Centre is the largest and most comprehensive breast centre in Canada.

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer Walk in Vancouver (http://bc.endcancer.ca/site/PageServer) planned for August 20-22, benefits the BC Cancer Foundation, an independent charitable organization which raises funds to support research and care at the BC Cancer Agency, including the Agency's Genome Sciences Centre, first in the world to sequence the SARS virus.

"We picked Convio over other vendors because its email marketing tools are easy to use and integrate well with our other systems," said Brian Pendleton, President, CauseForce, Inc. "Convio also provides very robust Internet tools for supporters to run their own fundraising campaigns we've had cases where an event participant solicited friends and relatives over the Internet in the morning and returns from lunch to find out he or she has raised more than $2,000!  Additionally, Convio delivers outstanding service and professionalism at every touch point across the organization."

Convio's offering for participant fundraising, TeamRaiser, allows supporters to easily create personal Web pages, explain why they are involved and then send emails to friends and relatives, asking them to visit these pages where they are encouraged to register for an event and donate. TeamRaiser automatically acknowledges donations with real-time, federal government-compliant on-screen messages and email receipts.  Additionally, when logged in to personal Web pages, a volunteer fundraiser can view reports on campaign progress and then send personalized, group emails to thank registrants and re-solicit potential recruits who have not yet responded. "CauseForce is recognized as a progressive leader in international events management, so being selected by this company says a lot about the strength of Convio's offering for email marketing and volunteer fundraising," said Gene Austin, CEO, Convio. "CauseForce already has had a significant impact on the fight against breast cancer in Canada but now with Convio, will be able to take its work to the next level and make a huge difference."
